  • Fender Lining Trimming Required to Install B and W Underbed Gooseneck Hitch
  • In the installation instructions for the B and W Companion Rail Kit part # BWGNRK1012-5W that you referenced it states that some trimming of fender liners can be required. If you check out the install video that I attached around the 1:15 mark we show how to remove the fender liner so that the hitch can be installed. You'll notice that at the end of the video the handle for the hitch hangs lower than the fender liner so it didn't need to be trimmed. The vehicle in this video is a 2015...

  • Does Bed Liner Need to be Cut to Install Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter
  • The base of the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # DM8550045 needs to sit directly on the truck bed, which means you do have to cut the bed liner on your truck for the Recon to properly secure. If you check out the accompanying photo a customer sent in of the Recon installed on their truck, you can see that a section of their bed liner is cut and the Recon fitting nicely. The base measures 28 inches front-to-back (as in from the tailgate to cab) and 30-1/2 inches...

  • Will a 5th Wheel Hitch Install in a Truck with a Spray-On Bedliner
  • There is no problem installing a fifth wheel hitch if you have a spray-on bed liner as long as the bed liner is fully cured. If you are looking into adding a spray-on bed liner to your truck, then you will want to check with the installer regarding cure time and make sure it has fully cured before you install a fifth wheel hitch or bed rails. We do not recommend installing a fifth wheel hitch on plastic bed liners because it will crush the bed liner when under a load and a plastic bed...

  • Bed Liner Compatibility with B & W Fifth Wheel Hitch
  • I called B & W to double check, and they recommend either removing the plastic bed liner or cutting out the liner where the Companion Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitch # BWRVK3500-5W will rest. This is so the hitch has the best possible surface to rest on. Additionally, the fifth wheel trailer hitch would likely crush the plastic bed liner. The liner could also prevent the hitch from inserting into the gooseneck hitch. A spray-in bed liner will not present a problem for a fifth wheel trailer hitch.

  • Installing Fifth Wheel Hitch Bed Rails in Truck with Bed Liner
  • If your bed liner is the spray-in type, you can simply install the fifth wheel hitch rails directly on top of it. However, if your bed liner is the hard plastic drop-in type, the liner would need to be trimmed away so that the bed rails have direct metal-to-metal contact with the truck bed. If the rails are installed directly over a drop-in liner, eventually the portion of the liner under the rails will deteriorate, which would cause the rails to become loose and lead to a dangerous situation....

  • Does Drop-In Plastic Bed Liner Require Trimming for 5th Wheel Base Rail Installation
  • If your pickup has a drop-in plastic bed liner it will need to be trimmed before you install the Curt 5th Wheel Base Rail Kit # C16420-204. 5th wheel rails must make metal to metal contact with the truck and the drop-in liner will interfere. Spray-on liners are ok for 5th wheel rail installation since they cannot shift in the bed as a drop-in liner can.

  • Will Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit Fit 2008 Toyota Tundra With Plastic Bed Liner
  • The base rails for a fifth wheel hitch cannot be installed over plastic bed liners. Plastic bed liners must be cut out of the way to provide metal to metal contact. The base rails may be installed on a spray-in bed liner. I am including a link to an excellent video of trimming a bed liner for fifth wheel rails. The correct base rails and mounting brackets for your 2008 Toyota Tundra Extended Cab with the 8 foot bed will be the Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit, part # RP30035-309. This...

  • Does Bed Liner have to be Removed to Install a 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch in a 2011 Ford F-150
  • If the bed liner in your 2011 Ford F-150 is a slid-in or drop-in liner then you will need to trim the liner in the foot print of the base rails (or remove the liner if you don't want to trim it). If you have a spray-in liner it will be fine. For an installation kit I recommend custom kit # RP50081-58. Custom kits require less drilling and install in less time compared to semi-custom or universal kits. I have included a link to the installation instructions and a link to a video to the...

  • The Hopkins Endurance 90-Degree Wiring Harness, part # 41157, is designed to plug into the existing wiring on your 2013 Dodge Ram 2500, and still retain the use of the 7-pole connector at the bumper. Normal installation would be accomplished by drilling through the bed liner, and mounting the connector through the bed liner in a convenient place that has enough clearance, usually behind the wheel well on the driver side of the truck bed. I have attached a link to a video that shows the...

You will only need to cut and drill four small holes into the bed of your truck to install the rails and have them functional with a Signature Series fifth wheel or gooseneck. The liner will not have to be removed and the truck bed will not have to come off.

  • Trouble Locating Green Wire To Connect To 12 Gauge Blue Wire In Tekonsha 7-Way Harness
  • For the 12 gauge blue wire connection you will not have to remove the liner completely. You will only need to remove enough of the screws to allow you to be able to find the connector inside the fender well. Many have trouble finding this connection and if you wish you can actually run the wire another way. The wire is simply the factory brake output. A simpler way of running the wire would be to run it into the vehicle and connect it to the blue wire on the brake controller harness....
